Founded in 1966, NITP has steadily grown into Africa's leading community of Urban Planners. Our chartered members are spread locally and internationally working in both public and private sectors. Collectively, we foster the attainment of sustainable human settlements.
Through professionalism and dedication, we shape our cities of tomorrow through long, medium and short-term development plans and policies.

NITP is an urban planning association recognised in Nigeria and Globally.

The Federal Government of Nigeria formally recognizes the profession of town and country planning in Nigeria through the Town Planners Decree No. 3 of 1988.

Since the year 2014, the world made a deliberate decision to focus on Cities, being the first grade human settlements in the agglomeration of human population spread over the earth’s surface.

We will neglect our cities to our peril, for in neglecting them we neglect the nation.
