Founded in 1966, NITP has steadily grown into Africa's leading community of Urban Planners. Our chartered members are spread locally and internationally working in both public and private sectors. Collectively, we foster the attainment of sustainable human settlements.
Through professionalism and dedication, we shape our cities of tomorrow through long, medium and short-term development plans and policies.

NITP is an urban planning association recognised in Nigeria and Globally.

The Federal Government of Nigeria formally recognizes the profession of town and country planning in Nigeria through the Town Planners Decree No. 3 of 1988.

The registration for the 51st NITP National Conference and Annual General Meeting is now open and we are happy to inform you all that this year, alongside the traditional payment system, we are launching an online payment option for the conference. This is part of our commitment to adopting modern technologies to provide quality service to our members. Also, with COVID-19 still lingering, we are determined to make sure our members are safe and avoid being exposed through walking into banking halls to make payment.

Application for Election into National Executive Committee of the Institute for 2020/2021 Service Year

In compliance with the provisions of the constitution of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) 2010, particularly part IV section 6.0, Part VI section 11 and other National Council’s approvals in connection with electoral matters, I have been directed by the Chairman, Nomination and Election Committee for 2020/2021 elections, TPL. OLUBUNMI AJAYI, FNITP, PPNITP to inform and invite all eligible and interested members to vie for various elective positions in National Executive Committee of the Institute.

We will neglect our cities to our peril, for in neglecting them we neglect the nation.
