The National President of the NITP Tpl. Lekwa O. Ezutah, FNITP, FhF on Friday 13th March, 2020 paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Abuja. In his speech, he said the visit was to seek the collaboration of the FHA with the NITP to help boost housing delivery services in Nigeria and equally making the entire process as seamless as possible. He highlighted issues which include: absence of Town Planning Department in the FHA; non-involvement of Town Planning Consultants in site selection, preparation of layouts, etc; and the employment of more Town Planners by FHA to enhance capacity.
In response, the MD FHA Arc. Umar S.Gonto thanked the National President and his team for their visit and informed that FHA had always boasted of the performance of Town Planners in its employ and so would love to sustain its relationship with NITP. He also informed that the absence of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning was as a result of the reviewed Organization’s structure by the previous Executives which affected other professionals as well. He assured the NITP delegation that all the observations raised are well noted and will be addressed.
The National President, was accompanied by the 1st National Vice President, Tpl. Toyin Ayinde, FNITP, 2nd National Vice President, Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije, FNITP, National Secretary, Tpl. Patrick Nyam, FNITP and Executive Secretary, Tpl. Mbaukaan Eric, MNITP. Members of the Institute who are staff of FHA led by Tpl. Mrs. Aminat Salau,FNITP were also in attendance.
