Tpl. Lekwa Ezutah - National President
Tpl. Lekwa Olugu Ezutah is a fellow of the Institute and has been involved in many Town Planning Projects such as Umuahia Main Market Relocation Plan, Umuahia Luxury Bus Terminal; Site Development Plan and Preliminary etc. Currently he is also a Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Urban Development.
Tpl. Toyin Ayinde - 1st National Vice President
Tpl. Toyin Ayinde is a fellow of the institute and has participated in a number of projects which include Urban Fringe Area Survey, an input in the preparation of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Master Plan and Lagos State Regional Plan 1980-2000, Detailed Planning of National Memorial Park, Abuja; Master Plan for Federal University of Technology, Akure, and Redevelopment Plan for Ajelogo/Akanimodo, Mile 12, Lagos State among others.
Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije - 2nd National Vice President
Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije is a fellow of the institute and he been actively involved in the preparation Gusau and Talata Mafara masterplans. In his service in the public sector, he has distinguished himself for excellence which earned him the Council and Ministerial Awards of best staff in Abuja Metropolitan Management Council and Federal Capital Territory Administration in the months of October and November 2008.
Tpl. Patrick Kanang Nyam - National Secretary
Tpl. Patrick Nyam is a fellow of the institute and In practice, he participated in a number of projects, some which include the Gusau master plan with Savanah Konsult, 2005 and the North-west Geopolitical zone master plan with ABUCONS Ltd., 2006. He is presently in employment with the Department of Development Control, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council since 2007.
Tpl. Austin Ugoh Ukanwa - 1st Assistant National Secretary
Tpl. Austin Ugoh Ukanwa has also served in different positions in the State. He was appointed Special Adviser Special Duties to the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning Imo State between 2013 and 2015 where he employed his wealth of experience in advancing the policies and programmes of the Ministry. He is currently Head of Department, Town Planning, Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA).
Tpl. Olugbenga Oladimeji Ashiru - 2nd Assistant National Secretary
Tpl. Olugbenga Oladiemji Ashiru has contributed in so many ways to improve the profession in the State, and his effort was crowned in 2012 when he was chosen after an interview by foreign consultant as one of the two Town Planners sent on training to Malaysia by the Ogun State Government on the Mission to Rebuild project (Abeokuta City Centre and New Town Development). Some of his awards are: NITP Award of Excellence for Outstanding Performance (2018), PRS FORUM 2018 Award of Excellence for Outstanding Performance (2018) among others.
Tpl. Moris Wetnwan Dabuahat - National Treasurer
Tpl. Moris Wetnwan has published many scholarly articles in National and International journals and presented many papers at different fora. He has been a consultant with Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) from 2010 to date in the areas of Site Analysis Report, Environmental Impact Assessment Report and other Physical Planning matters. He has served in various committees among which are: Committee on proposed Urban Development and Housing Policy for Plateau State, Chairman, Housing and Campus Development Committee, Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi.
Tpl. Nkiru Chinweuba - National Financial Secretary
Tpl. Chinweuba Nkiru has some skills and qualities which include excellent communication skills, strong organizational ability, ability to be creative, work in a team, flexible and adaptable, strong professional ethics. She was employed into the Anambra State Civil Service as a Town Planning Officer II in 2013. Her work experience and designation includes: Town Planning Officer I in-charge of Idemili North and South Local Planning Authority, Ministry of Lands Awka. Executive Secretary Dunukofia Local Planning Authority (2016-2018). Town Planning Officer, Onitsha North Local Planning Authority among others.
Tpl. Oloyede Idowu Along - National Auditor
Tpl. Oloyede Idowu rose through the ranks to his present position as the Director, Physical Planning Department, Ondo State. He also served simultaneously, the State and the Ministry in the capacities as Coordinator, Ondo State Task Force on Environmental Enforcement 2009-2010; Zonal Officer, overseeing Akure Zone comprising Akure South, Akure North, Idanre, and Ifedore Area Offices in 2009; Chairman, MPPUD Ministerial Task Force on Physical Planning and Enforcement 2012/2013; His commitment, doggedness and awesome intents in planning affairs spurred the State Chapter to sponsor him for the election to the post of National Auditor.
Tpl. Sanni Daniel - National Public Relation Secretary
Tpl. Sanni Daniel initiated local planning consultative meetings with various stakeholders, introduced the neighbourhood strategy in opening access roads and computerization of Lokoja area office and development control auditing. These efforts earned him two (2) commendation letters in 2013 and 2018 respectively. He has been the Assistant State focal person for the implementation of the City Structure Plan by Un- Habitat and co-opted as the Assistant Technical Secretary for the recovery of State Government Land. Tpl. Edmund Nwokaeze - Assistant National Public Relations Secretary
Over the last decade, Tpl. Edmund C. Nwokaeze has focused his professional and career interests on Development Management, with years of fruitful public service in Thekweni Municipality City of Durban, South Africa and Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Rivers State Nigeria. He has managed Public Sector Housing and Land Use Management Systems at Municipal level with outstanding milestones. At the Institute, he served as Secretary Rivers State Chapter (2014 - 2017) with several achievements one of which was to give Town Planners a voice in Rivers State which was non-existent ab initio.

Tpl. Lukas Bulus Achi is a fellow of the institute and has participated in several planning projects including Lower Usman Tourism Report; Design for a Local Park in Wuse District, Abuja; Preparation of Master Plan for 33 Towns in Sokoto/Kebbi States; Preparation of Development Plan for Kujama Headquarters of Chikum Local Government; Inventorization of Business Premises of Kaduna North Local Government Area; Route Planning Studies for Kaduna and Kano; Research on Conprehensive Housing Policy for Kaduna State; Study of Pollution in River Kaduna; Study of Urban Utilities in Kaduna Metropolis; Study of Participation in Urban Utilities and Service in Kano; Nigerian Space Research and Development Centre, Abuja
Tpl. Gbolabo Ojo Osunsanmi - Ex Officio
Tpl. Gbolabo Ojo Osunsanmi is a fellow of the institute who started his carrier as Assistant Lecturer at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo and rose through the ranks to the position of Senior Lecturer with more than 10 publications both in Nigeria and abroad. He has also served the Polytechnic in different capacities as the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning and Coordinator of the Urban and Regional Planning Post Graduate Unit. In the institute, he has served in positions such as: Assistant General Secretary NITP Ondo State 2003-2005. General Secretary NITP Ondo State 2008-2012 to mention a few
Tpl. Theresa Sussana Sheyin - Ex Officio
Tpl. Sheyin Sussana Theresa has been practising in the private sector and has participated in several consultancies especially EIA, SAR, Layout Designs, etc.She has a perpetual passion for building sustainable and liveable environment as well as grow the town planning profession through hard work, selflessness and continuous quest for knowledge has the following work experience and designations in planning practice such as City Planners and Managers Ltd, Department of Development Control, FCTA Abuja, to mention a few. In her usual way of discharging her duties diligently, she has also served the institute in various capacity.
Tpl. Victoria Olabisi Adeniyi - Ex Officio
Tpl. Victoria Olabisi Adeniyi rose to the prestigious position of a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners in 2013 and attained the status of the First Female Fellow and First Female Chairman of the Institute, Ondo State Chapter. She also made her impact felt at the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko between 2001 and 2009 where she held the positions of Acting Director, Chief Physical Planning Officer, Head of Department of Works & Physical Planning as well as Head of Physical Planning Unit where she retired voluntarily from government service meritoriously in November 2009.
Tpl. Joseph Ayo Adediran - Legal Adviser
Tpl. Ayo Adedirin, a Fellow of the institute. He was Director, Regional and Master Plan until his appointment as Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency in 2015. In his quest for knowledge, Tpl. Ayo Adediran obtained additional qualifications which include B.Sc (Hon) Business Admin; LL.B (Hon) and LL.M (Master of Laws). He was Assistant Secretary, Lagos State Chapter between 1990 – 1994, Council Member from 2002 – 2016 when he was Assistant National Secretary, National Secretary, Ex-Officio member, Chairman Membership Committee, Chairman Ethics and Code of Conduct Committee, and Chairman Lagos State Chapter. He had also served in many committees of the State.
Tpl. Nwabukwu Ubaka Azani - Chairman, Publications Committee
Tpl Nwabukwu Azani joined the services of College of Education, Agbor in Delta State in September 2005 as a Lecturer III and rose through the ranks to the position of Principal Lecturer in January 2018. He has been teaching Urban Geography, Settlement Geography, Regional Planning, Geographic Information Systems and Fieldwork in the Degree Programme of the College since 2006. Tpl Azani has co-authored two books ( Studies in Settlement Geography and Fundamentals of Fieldwork in Geography), published articles in both local and international journals and has presented papers at both academic and professional conferences including Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) Annual Conferences.
Tpl. Muyiwa Adegbemile Adelu - Chairman, Practice Committee
Tpl. Muyiwa Adegbemile Adelu has being an active member of the institute especially the Lagos state Chapter where he was various committees' member and was the immediate past Secretary General of Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON). He was a member of Practice Committee of the Institute before being elected Chairman of the Committee at the 2018 AGM. He had his tutelage at Utilities Charges Commission, the Presidency, Festus Obayiuwana & Co and a consultant with A. A. Awesu & Associates. He eventually co-founded City Matters International in 2004 and has been managing the company till date. He has special interest in projects design and development aspect of Physical Planning and well versed in neighbourhood design conceptualization, Advocacy and Development Control.
Tpl. Prof. Ndubuisi Uchegbu - Chairman, Edu. & Research C'ttee
Tpl. Prof. Ndubuisi Uchegbu is a fellow of the institute and was a Consultant to Abia State Environmental Protection Agency 12th August 2004; Enugu State Ministry of Environment and Solid Minerals on 8th December, 2004. He was appointed a member of the Abia State Technical Team on Integrated Infrastructural Development Project (ABSIIDP) in 2013; a member of committee on Enugu State Transport Master Plan in June 2015; a steering committee member of the Association of African Planning Schools, Cape Town, South Africa in 2015. As seasoned academics, he has served the University of Nigeria and other Universities in many capacities such as: the Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus and a member of the Governing Council of University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2016-2018 to mention a few.
Tpl. Prof. Davidson Sunday Alaci - Chairman, Membership Committee
Tpl. Prof. Davidson Sunday Alaci is a fellow of the institute. He has lectured across Universities in Nigeria and Ethiopia. Consulted for the UNECA, UN-Habitat, Urbanization Research in Nigeria (URN) and has been involved in many urban plans. He was formerly editorial board member of the Journal of African Development Studies (JADS) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Currently the Managing Editor, Journal of Contemporary Urbanology (JCU), Benue State University Makurdi and Editorial board member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) Journal. He is the Head, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Benue State University. In the 2007 Professional Practice Examination of the Town Planners' Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) Tpl Prof. Alaci was the 1st best Candidate nationwide.
Tpl. Dr. Idris Okanla Salako - Chairman Ethics & Disciplinary C'ttee
Tpl. Dr. Idris Okanla Salako is a fellow of the institute with over 22 years of professional practice experience in Town Planning, starting as an industrial attaché at Hussplan Consult till his current position as the Managing Partner at Adesanya Salako & Associates. He also had a brief spell in the public sector as the Town Planning Officer at the then Oshodi-Isolo Local Planning Authority, Isolo Lagos. Currently, he is the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Lagos State. Tpl. Salako instituted a prize for the best student in Planning Design Studio in his Alma-Mata FUTA. He has contributed to the institute in numerous ways such as Vice President: Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (2015 - 2017); Elected Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, (NITP, 2016); Chairman, Membership Committee, NITP (2016-2018); Member: Special Investiture Committee, NITP Lagos State Chapter Executive Committee, (2017) to mention a few.
Tpl. Eric Iormba Mbaukaan - Executive Secretary
Tpl Mbaukaan Eric joined the private sector where he started his Town Planning career. He worked with Joternam Limited as a project coordinator in 2007, and was in-charge of telecommunications projects for MTN, Etisalat (9Mobile) and Huawei Technologies Limited. He was responsible for the supervision and coordination of National Roll out plans for Site Acquisition, Site built and development permits for deployment of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS); initiation and coordination of preliminary survey for Right of Way (ROW) and submission of requests for permits on same on State roads from the 36 States, FCT and the Federal highways. He coordinated acquisition of development permits for Transmission Fast Forward (TFF) for deployment of Optic Fibre Cable (FOC) by MTN Nigeria and many others. As a result of his meritorious service and excellent display of professionalism at Joternam Limited, the company appointed him the Managing Director(MD) in 2009 where he served till 2015.
